CUPID 4 Science is a new scientific project launched by the members of Apnea Academy Research, the research division of Apnea Academy, a freediving school and research institute founded by multiple freediving champion Mr. Umberto Pellizzari.
We believe that science is not just about discoveries in laboratories, but about creating a lasting impact through shared knowledge and collective action.
The mission of CUPID 4 Science is to bridge the gap between research communities, institutions, and the general public, making science accessible, engaging, and meaningful for everyone.
A core aspect of our work is Citizen Science, where everyday people are actively involved in scientific research—especially in our beach and underwater cleanup efforts. From cleaning shorelines to diving into underwater ecosystems, volunteers help us gather vital data, remove pollutants, and monitor the health of marine environments. These efforts contribute to real-time research that informs and accelerates conservation strategies, ensuring that our oceans and coasts remain vibrant and healthy for future generations.
Our name, CUPID, symbolizes our deep passion and love for the ocean, as well as the connectivity we strive to foster within the scientific community. Just as Cupid connects hearts, we connect minds, ideas, and resources to create a stronger, more united world of science. We embrace the beauty of our oceans and work tirelessly to restore their purity—because when we protect our oceans, we protect the planet.
At CUPID 4 SCIENCE, we:
Together, we can create a healthier and cleaner ocean that benefits both people and marine life.
Join us on this exciting journey as we shape the future of science—and our planet—together.
